Dileep arrested in Kochi, in connection with abduction case





In a major development, top actor Dileep was arrested today in connection with the conspiracy behind the case related to the abduction and sexual assault of a leading actress in February this year. This news has send shock waves across Malayalam film industry and in the state of Kerala, as Dileep is one of the most influential actors. Last week, the police had questioned Dileep and film director Nadirsha for 13 hours in connection with the case. Police had raided the business premises of Dileep's wife Kavya Madhavan. The police say that they took Dileep into custody on Monday morning and his arrest was recorded in the evening. Last month, the police reopened the conspiracy behind the attack following a letter written by Pulsar Suni to Dileep seeking financial help. In the meantime, Dileep too had complained to police that he was being blackmailed by Suni. Mathrubhumi television reported that Dileep was being moved to the Police Club in Alwaye near Kochi after being questioned at an undisclosed location.

Dileep says the investigation of the actress assault case is progressing in the right direction, after 13 hours of interrogation by the police. Actor Dileep and his friend, filmmaker Nadirshah, were interrogated for about 13 hours in connection with the Mollywood's actress abduction case at Aluva Police Club in Kochi. The questioning, which started around 12.30 pm on June 28, ended in the wee hours of June 29. The police team headed by ADGP B Sandhya recorded their statements separately. After the interrogation, Dileep responded to the media that he has given detailed statements for recent blackmail case that he filed. He added that the investigation is progressing well and he is feeling confident after the questioning. He will be questioned again if required, said the police.
