JUST IN: HUGE UPDATE ON NAYANTHARA'S NEXT - HIPHOP TAMIZHA REVEALS! Imaikkaa Nodigal is an upcoming film that has Atharvaa, Nayanthara, Raashi Khanna and Anurag Kashyap in the lead roles. Rangeela, a girl from Ariyalur, has received funds from actor Vijay’s fan clubs known as Vijay’s Makkal Iyakkam,  to pursue higher education. The actor had recently visited the house of Anitha, who had committed suicide as she was unable to secure a medicine seat. Anitha had scored 1176 marks out of 1200 and scored a cutoff of 196.75. However, she only secured 86 marks out of 720 in NEET exam, which was declared mandatory for admission by the Supreme Court. Rangeela had allegedly approached an expelled member of the fans’ association who had duped her with promises of financial assistance. In a clarification, the fans’ association has now said that the club had no idea about the girl’s request. Furthermore, they have offered to bear the expenses for Rangeela to pursue her higher education at a college in Kanyakumari.

Imtiaz Ali directorial Jab Harry Met Sejal was expected to give the box office a boost as none of the films in 2017 have shown an unexpected business so far. But to everyone’s surprise, despite a hit on-screen couple like Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, the film seems to be in free fall. On Monday, the film fell from Rs 15.50 crores to Rs 7.15 crores at the box office, which is unusual for a Shah Rukh film. ​KOCHI: The Kerala High Court today rejected the bail plea of popular Malayalam actor Dileep, arrested for allegedly plotting the February 17 abduction and assault of a popular South Indian actress here.  Dismissing the bail application of the actor, Justice Sunil Thomas said the investigation in the case is progressing and the mobile phone, stated by the prosecution as a key evidence in the case, has not been recovered.  The investigation against the accused is into the conspiracy behind the case and it cannot be proved by direct evidence, the court observed.  The accused is influential and is likely to tamper with the evidence if bail is granted at this stage, the court said.  The actor, arrested on July 10, moved the high court for bail after an Angamaly magisterial court refused to grant him the relief and sent him to judicial custody till July 25.  The High Court had reserved its orders on his bail plea in the case, on July 20.  D...

Malayalam actor Dileep who was arrested in connection to the conspiracy in the actress’ abduction and molestation case, was presented to the Angamaly Judicial Magistrate court today. Noted lawyer K Ramkumar has appeared for Dileep in the court. Reportedly, the actor has pleaded not guilty, saying that he was ‘trapped’. Though the actor had filed an application for bail, court dismissed his application. Dileep has been sent for two days police custody for further questioning and collection of evidence. If the conspiracy charge under section 120 (B) is proved against the actor, he may even get a life term in jail. Investigative officers will now look to gather more evidence and find out about the involvement of more people in the case. Further arrests are likely.

KOCHI: A day after top Malayalam actor Dileep's arrest on conspiracy charges in the abduction and rape of an actress in February, police sources close to the investigation revealed that he had nursed a grudge against her since 2013 for "meddling in his private affairs". The actress had allegedly passed on incriminating information to Dileep's then wife Manju Warrier about his affair with his current wife, actress Kavya Madhavan. At the rehearsal of an award function in 2013, Dileep had an open spat with the actress and this, police believe, provoked him to plot the "revenge". Dileep then allegedly contracted `Pulsar' Suni, a petty criminal and film world hanger-on, to sexually assault the actress and shoot explicit visuals of the act and promised him Rs 1.5 crore for the job.
